Remember
collecting coins or stamps in our childhood?
Remember
exchanging currencies with friends?
Remember
asking your grandparents for old currency or stamps?
What
nostalgia never thought that these childhood collections were beginning of
experiencing cross country culture at young age.
I
remember having a pen friend in Australia when I was 10 years old, we used to
exchange letters with stamps, coins etc. and this continued for few years.
As
a mother of two young boys, I firmly believe that knowing about different parts
of world like their flags, currency, capitals should be part of early learning.
Digital Gadgets have changed a child from an irresistible force to an immovable
object and inducing a balance between screen time and time in the real
world (off-screen) is must in today’s world.
Our
screen free childhood has various such memories, stamp collection, flag
collection, coin collection etc. etc. The memories are still so fresh, by
acquiring cross-cultural knowledge, you can express yourself with confidence
and understand how to be patient with other people who aren't from a similar
background as you grow.
Eventually,
it also provides great opportunity to meet/interact with fellow students/peers
from other cultures and understand their culture & policies in more detail.
Talking
to your kids about money/world currencies at an early age
can help them understand the value of the dollar/rupee, how to save
for long-term goals and how to spend responsibly. Teaching children in
initial years of their childhood about finances can help build financial
literacy and give them a stronger ability to manage their finances later in
life
Currency
is the official money of a country. It consists of paper money and coins. Each
country has its own form of currency, which is supervised by the central bank
of that country. Even though different countries may have similar name of
currency, their currencies are usually not connected to one another. Hence,
children should have good general knowledge of currencies used all over the
world and what best way it could be if we can teach the same with help of flash
cards and sample currency?
In
today’s day and age, children rarely see cash change hands, they see only
credit & debit cards. To equip my children with knowledge currencies in the
world in play way methods , Ishva flash cards of
flags & currencies came for my rescue.
I
was pleasantly surprised with my children grasping flags & currencies so
fast and in no time, they were taking tests of each other. Such a lovely sight
to see children spend productive, quality time away from screen.
Ishva flash cards are beautifully
designed, laminated & compiled and act as an incredible versatile study
tool, a must buy for all young children, pre nursery, activity center’s etc.
They also help your child engage in active recall exercise
which teaches the brain to remember a term, concept, or process without context
clues. Increases your general knowledge, memory retention power and
concentration.
Kudos to Ishita & entire team for amazing efforts and
enabling us to give a screen free extremely engaging activities for our
children, which helps us develop passion for continuous learning & growth
for them. Heartfelt gratitude to Ishita & team and want to summarize with
famous Chinese proverb below.
If you are planning for a year, just sow
rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; AND if you are planning
for a lifetime, educate people!
