Today is my mother's birthday and what better day I can choose to express my
feelings for her and let her know that how blessed I feel to have her in my
life.. Truly she is how things begin for me.
Right from my toddler’s day till today I look up to her for everything.
Her perseverance, proactiveness and love for life has never failed to amaze me.
I never recall missing any day of my school, or defaulting on any project or homework
completion, she took our best care with utmost dedication.
Be it extremely low temperatures during winters or extreme heat in
summers, our lives sailed smoothly because of her...
Beginning of next phase in life...
My best memories with her is during my class 12 board exams. Dad
was posted to Kashmir, and Jiji was married then. It was only me and her. My
one of the most cherished times in lifetime. I vividly remember those 5-6
months and enjoying time with her. She used to do household chores and I used
to prepare for my boards and competitive exams. We used to go for evening walks.
I used to drive my gearless "scooty" and take her for shopping and
watch movies together. One of the most memorable times of my life.
Soon after, I started with my engineering course and went to
hostel and she joined dad in Kashmir.
Beginning of Desolation & Hardships...
Early hostel life was not an easy one. First time away from home
and family, Noone known, strangers all around. Since, mom and dad were in
Kashmir, the only way to communicate was letters. Suddenly the world seemed
changed, hard and tough. However, slowly and gradually I settled and came out victorious
fighting all possible odds all this because of the strength and skills I had
learnt all through my childhood.
Beginning of Self-Confidence & Co-Incidence .. :)
My most priced possession till date is my GOLD medal which has my
name carved on it. Since, I had joined Accenture Bangalore, Mom and dad went to
collect it on my behalf. What a day it was? 4 years of my sheer hard work and
my parents sacrifices, all seemed worth it!
Co-incidentally, ma also had won Gold medal in her college times.
Perhaps, winning and staying focused is our genetic trait :)
Beginning of Dream Realization...
I shot for my first ever TV show "The Tara Sharma Show' in
August 2018. Post that ma came to visit me in Mumbai and surprisingly Tara
called me to shoot for another episode and gracefully invited ma too for the
shoot. Again, ma was an integral part of my most cherished memory.
In fact, my story got published in an E-Book and I won accolades took inferences from my childhood and her influences.
